Semi-Submersible Rig

HAKURYU-5 Deep-dish Conversion Work
IHIMU performed the conversion work of "HAKURYU-5", semi-submersible drilling rig owned by Japan Drilling Co. Ltd, at IHI Aichi Works and re-delivered the converted unit to the Owner on February 2009.
This conversion work is for upgrading deck load capacity and hull structural strength of the original unit by installing additional floater structure called "Deep-dish". The Deep-dish was fabricated prior to the arrival of the unit to Aichi Works to achieve very short dry docking period (110days), resulting in significant short down time period of the unit due to the conversion work.
